You Might be a Homeschooler IF... Plus the #FridayFrivolity link-up blog party for all things fun, funny, happy & hopeful!

Today's #FridayFrivolity fun is supposed to be based on the theme "lies our parents told us" which is a hilarious topic... but when I tried to brainstorm content I got a little stuck.  And I kept remembering this video series I had seen recently, which is totally about parents, and growing up... just, ya know, growing up amidst a specific bunch of lovable weirdos... but none of it is a lie... it's all true.  So

very, very (occasionally painfully) true.  :P

The Silmarillion, Adventures in Odyssey, jean jumpers, evil Power Rangers... not saying alllllll of this was true of my "growing up years", but MOST of it was, ahaha.

There's a whole series of these videos... if you watch them all, you're probably a former homeschooler.*  ;)

*heaven help us rofl... ^_^  Be sure to comment so you and I can bond over our shared weirdness and compare recovery times...

Now on to the link-up! :D

"Make Your Own Fitness Folder" via Little Drops of Learning -- My bloggy pal Miranda had such a good idea, creating her own reference manual / fitness plan for trips to the gym, complete with ideas for interval training, proper alignment, weight routines, etc.  Plus, she claims to run like a drunken giraffe, which made me laugh out loud.  ;P

  4. The only lie I recall my Mom telling me when I was little was the if you crossed your eyes the elastics holding them in place would stretch out and your eyes would stay crossed. To this day I hate crossing my eyes.

Thanks for hosting and Happy Easter!

    1. Ahahha it's a book by JRR Tolkein... all the mythology of Middle Earth (Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit). It is SO BORING. And kind of the ultimate nerdy book.

  9. Gosh, I'd thought that I'd already commented on this, but maybe I just made a comment on FB - anyway, this video cracked me up and even though I didn't truly get all of it, I totally got the vibe! #FridayFrivolity

  10. This cracked me up, especially the 'having fun isn't hard' reference. I'm totally going to use that line on Marianna. You *could* download a book, but that would lack the fun of choosing your own books (and finding some of the dubious smears within...) at the library. :)

    1. Oh the dubious smears... smashed bugs and chocolate... at least I hoped it was chocolate... ;P
