#FridayFrivolity - PINTEREST FAILS Edition - Linky for All Things Fun, Funny, Happy & Hopeful!

This week at #FridayFrivolity we're highlighting PINTEREST FAILS... it's happened to all of us, right? The instructions look so simple!  The promised results are so fantastic!  And then something goes terribly, terribly wrong.  ;P

Here are a few I've experienced myself....

Ahhh the mythical "golden egg."

I probably should have known this was too good to be true.  After all, any fairytale can tell you that golden eggs come from GOLDEN GEESE.  (Duh!)  My husband and I both got in on the shaking action, trying to produce these golden eggs, but though we shook our arms off for about five solid minutes, it wasn't enough to break the yolk.  All we got were tired arms.

Not sure what kind of crazy industrial-strength "shaker" they used to produce the results in the picture (or what sickly, puny and sad chicken the egg came from?) but it was a no-go for us.

I bet most of the teacher-types have seen this one... it looks so tidy!  So streamlined!  But my glue did NOT soak into the sponge at all.  It just sat there puddled on top.  Total irritation.

Maybe it was because my coffee was ground for a percolator?  Definite fail, however.

Another egg one!  I thought this was such a fun, healthy twist on fried eggs!  But it didn't work at all.  First the egg seeped out under the ring of the pepper... then the pepper didn't cook enough... and how the heck are you supposed to flip it?  You can't - the egg has to be served sunny side up.

Really pretty photo.... pretty impossible to reproduce successfully at home.

Oh well, you win some, you lose some.  ;P

  1. I suspected the bell pepper eggs would do that, plus my family won't eat bell peppers so I didn't even waste the egg. ha ha!

  2. Never heard of that golden egg thing...and my 2nd-graders were pretty decent with the glue, so it wasn't an issue...much different from Kinder Kids!

  4. Fun Pinterest-fail stories and it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who tries these out and can't get them to look like the picture. I tried something similar to the egg and pepper idea, and had similar results. Whether it's a pepper or a cookie-cutter, the egg just seeps out. It makes me wonder how people get those incredible Pinterest photos? :)

    1. I know, right? I wonder if there are pinterest-trolls, going out of their way to make these "simple" pins, and laughing in their sleeves at the rest of us the whole time. Ahaha *shakes head*

  6. I'm laughing at your Pinterest fails. At them, not you! I'd totally try that egg in a pepper ring one, too. Of course it would seep. Thanks for saving me breakfast one morning. :)
